Civic Museum of Zoology of Rome is situated in the vicinity of the Zoological Garden (known to the locals as the Bioparc), standing out as a reputed institute ascertained at national scale for its research activities in the field of animal life diversity. Its collections amount to some five million exhibits, comprising sections dedicated to ornithology, herpetology, ichthyology, entomology, as well as to the mammal life.

A part of the museum’s mission is of educational nature. Thus, plenty of programs, guided tours and workshops have been conceived and are constantly organized in collaboration with other institutions and associations in order to familiarize the public with the concepts of the natural history, evolution of life and biodiversity.
