The Gay Village is a collateral festival of the Roman Summer. Thus, it extends throughout the summer season, from early June to late September, except that the occasioned events are not held daily, but only Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Gay Village remains one of the largest seasonal entertainment platforms for the gay community of Rome (welcoming, of course, foreign tourists too), the range of events consisting of theater performances and film screenings, music shows (from rock to jazz and live DJ performances) and dancing parties, sports events and literature recitals. Beach activities are also envisaged by the festival: the Gay Village Beach is located just southwest of Rome, in the Nature Reserve of Decima Malafede, several kilometers south of Fiumicino.
