In the 1st century A.D. Rome was the largest city in the World and was inhabited by more then one million citizens.

The SPQR acronym printed on Romes Coat of Arms is refering to Senatus Populusque Romanus, "The Senate of Roman People".

Rome is the ending point of Via Francigena Street, previously called Romea. This is one of the most important communication ways in Middle Ages Europe, while its 1600 km itinerary was leading the pilgrims coming from Canterbury, England, to the Eternal City (Rome).
